Prayer Bible study for moms: Praying Through the Busy

“Praying Through the Busy” – A Free 31-Day Bible Study and Reading Plan

Motherhood is full of joy, chaos and constant demands. As moms, we can struggle to find uninterrupted time to connect with God.

Yet prayer doesn’t have to be another item on your to-do list. It’s the lifeline that anchors us through the beautiful busyness of motherhood.

“Praying Through the Busy” is designed to help you incorporate meaningful, Scripture-based prayer into your everyday life, whether you’re waiting in the carpool line or folding laundry.

Throughout this month-long study, we’ll focus on four powerful areas of prayer:

  • Week 1 (May 1-10): Praying for Your Marriage
  • Week 2 (May 11-17): Praying for Your Children
  • Week 3 (May 18-24): Teaching Your Children to Pray
  • Week 4 (May 25-31): Praying for Yourself

Each week includes:

  • A Bible reading plan with daily verses and prayer prompts
  • Practical action steps and reflection questions
  • Weekly articles and videos to deepen your understanding
  • A mini challenge to apply prayer to your life meaningfully
  • A discussion guide for small groups

Plus, for those who want to go deeper, the premium version of this study offers extended devotions, printable journals, Scripture cards and more. (And the sooner you get the premium upgrades, the cheaper they’ll be. Prices increase starting in June 2025!)

Check back here every week for new resources, links and updates as we go on this prayer journey together. You’ll also find all study materials conveniently compiled for you here in one place.

While you can do the study on your own or in your women’s small group, we’d also love for you to join us online. Starting May 1, 2025, we’ll be discussing the study in our private Facebook group, Christian Moms with Grace.

Throughout the year, we complete Bible studies like this one and have a free monthly Bible reading plan as well.

Praying Through the Busy Week 1: Praying for your marriage

Week 1: Praying for your marriage

This week, we’re focusing on one of the most important relationships in our lives—our marriages.

With all the demands of motherhood, it’s easy for our marriages to take a backseat, but prayer has the power to bring us closer to our spouses and to God.

As we walk through this week, we’ll explore how prayer can strengthen our connection, deepen our love and create a foundation of unity. Each day, you’ll be guided through simple prayer prompts and reflection, helping you make space for God in your marriage.

Whether things are going smoothly or you’re facing challenges, I hope this week reminds you that prayer is a powerful tool for nurturing your marriage with grace and love.

Praying Through the Busy Week 2: Praying for your children

Week 2: Praying for your children

This week, we’re focusing on one of the most important responsibilities we’ve been given as moms—raising our children in faith.

From the moment they’re born, our hearts are wrapped up in prayers for their safety, growth and future. And through every stage of childhood, prayer remains one of the most powerful ways we can parent with purpose.

Throughout this week, we’ll explore how to pray specifically and intentionally for our children—covering areas like their salvation, character, friendships, education and calling. You’ll be guided each day with Scripture-based prayer prompts and encouragement to help you lift your children to the Lord.

Whether you’re in the baby years or parenting grown kids, I hope this week encourages you to keep pressing into prayer—because what we do on our knees echoes in their lives for years to come.

Praying Through the Busy Week 3: Teaching your children to pray

Week 3: Teaching your children to pay

This week we shift from praying for our kids to praying with them—showing them that talking to God can happen in booster-seat car rides, science-fair stress and bedtime giggles.

Jesus’ followers once asked, “Lord, teach us to pray” (Luke 11:1). Our children need that same teaching—and we, as moms, get to be their first prayer coaches.

Over the next seven days we’ll explore simple, age-appropriate ways to help toddlers through teens connect with their Heavenly Father.

You’ll find Scripture that reminds us God is near to every child who calls on Him (Psalm 145:18) and promises that faith-filled prayers are powerful (James 5:16).
